(READ MATHEW 12:35-37) The verse proceeding this text says " For whatever is in your heart determines what you say" Your speech mirrors the condition of your heart. Your heart represents your innermost thoughts, desires and emotions. If your heart is filled with bitterness, your speech will be tainted by it, if it is filled with the love of God your words will also express that love. If we take seriously Jesus' warning about being held accountable for our idle words, then we should not only weigh our words, but we should examine our hearts-the source of our speech. Here is a good rule to apply before you speak: THINK
T-is it true?
H-is it helpful?
I- is it inspiring?
N- is it necessary?
K- is it kind?
If the content of what you want to say doesn't pass this test, you do not need to say it. Otherwise you will have to give an explanation when you stand before the Lord.

GUIDANCE

When I seek help with a life decision, I open myself to divine guidance by turning down the volume of the noisy world. I turn off the radio, the television, the computer, so I can hear the still small voice of Infinite Wisdom.

Spending time in nature or involving myself in a creative endeavor helps me change my state of mind and step away from my usual distractions. Moving apart for a time of quiet prayer and meditation tells my spirit I am willing to listen for the wisdom of the Divine.

Divine guidance comes from within and is available whenever I need it. I simply step away from the noise and into the Silence to access it.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight.

The Value of Obedience

Proverbs 2:1-6

Despite Peter's vast fishing experience, he returned from a night's work
with nothing to show for his efforts. It's quite possible that the Lord's
request
to let the nets down one more time struck him as unreasonable—after all,
Peter and his partners were the professionals. Nevertheless, the fisherman
complied,
and his obedience blessed many.

Scripture demonstrates that divine plans often defy human logic. For
instance, who would design a battle strategy that involved only marching
and shouting?
God told Joshua to conquer Jericho that way, and doing so proved successful
(Josh. 6:1-5).

Moses is another example. When he felt unsure about his leadership
potential, the Lord gave reassurance in an unusual way—by telling him to
throw down his
walking stick. When Moses obeyed, God powerfully confirmed His choice of
leader (Ex. 4:1-3).

Our Father may ask us to do something that seems illogical—perhaps to accept
more responsibility when we were hoping to reduce our workload, to leave a
position that He provided just recently, or to take on an assignment for
which we feel ill-equipped. His plan might feel unrealistic in view of our
age,
stage of life, or health concerns. We must press forward in obedience,
regardless of how impractical the request may appear.

To grasp the importance of obeying, think about children receiving
instructions from parents or teachers. Careful listening is needed for the
task to be
done safely and properly. Some steps may seem pointless, but the rationale
often becomes clear later. Always make obeying God your priority.

We've got David standing here mad at the Lord, when, in fact, the Lord was
angry at David. About now you might be thinking, Well, I thought you said he
was a man after God's heart. I did---or, rather, God did. Does that mean
he's perfect? It does not. Having a heart for God doesn't mean you're
perfect,
it means you're sensitive. It means every detail is important. And when you
see you're wrong, you face it. You own up. You come to terms with it.

The problem was that David had not done his homework. We often get into
trouble when we don't do our homework---when we think we see pretty clearly
what
the Lord's will is, and so in expediency or in convenience (usually in a
hurry) we dash off to do it our way. And the Lord says, "Look, I've written
a
lot of things in My Book about that decision you just made, and I want you
to take counsel from Me. That's why it's not working. If you want to have a
heart for Me, then you check My Word, and you find either a precept or a
principle then go according to that. When you do that, I'll give you joy
like
you can't believe. If you don't, I will make you miserable." In fact, in
David's case, the Lord said, "I'll even take some lives."

Centuries later, Ananias and Sapphira did very much the same thing. They
presumed on the Lord and didn't take Him seriously. We see Uzzah the same
way,
taken from the earth because he touched an ultra-holy article of furniture
that was not to be touched, especially by a non-Levite. Who cares about
Levites?
God does. Who cares about little ringlets and little golden poles that go
through ringlets? God does. If He didn't care, He wouldn't have said
anything
about it. And because He cares, we must also care.

That's the whole point here. When we begin to care about the things God
cares about, we become people after His heart, and only then do we begin to
have
real freedom and real happiness.

Jermaine Alexander AKA Survivor Q is a man whose heart hungers for Christ. He uses his music to reach souls and help fill the void that many people crave. Q was not always saved, as a matter of fact he thought he wouldnt make it to see his 30's. He was in gangs, drugs, alcohol and women. He even lost his brother to the streets. When he realized that everyone around him was either dead or in jail, that was his wake up call. He called on Christ in 2002 and has been walking strong and firm in him ever since. His desire is to spread the true gospel of Jesus to any and everyone that he encounters. Survivor Q uses his gift of music to win souls for the kingdom and uplift the saints. POWER OF THE CROSS

Only a person with a perfect knowledge of mankind could have dared to set forth the terms of discipleship that our Lord Jesus Christ expects of His followers. Only the Lord of men could have risked the effect of such rigorous demands: "Let him deny himself!" Can the Lord lay down such severe rules at the door of His kingdom? He can-and He does! If He is to save the man, He must save him from himself. It is the "himself" which has enslaved and corrupted the man. Deliverance comes only by denial of that self. No man in his own strength can shed the chains with which self has bound him, but in the next breath the Lord reveals the source of the power which is to set the soul free: "Let him take up his cross." The cross was an instrument of death-slaying a man was its only function. "Let him take his cross," said Jesus, and thus he will know deliverance from himself!

Verse
The cross... by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Galatians 6:14

Thought
